We have had the Van 2 weeks and yesterday
Iain worked out (finally) how it goes into reverse!!!??? Jan, if you are reading this, it was exactly
like you said, lift the collar!
Going up to the castle in Salzberg, we had
to go in a funicular (which is a tram which goes up and down the side of the
mountain) When we hopped in to a space
about the size of an average bathroom, there were the four of us and two
cleaners with their gear. It was
comfortable and we could possibly fit another 2 or 3 people. Just as the ding sounded for the funicular to
head up the mountain, a bus load of Asians arrived and started to pour into our
section. There was space in other
sections, but no! 13 little Asian ladies
squished in! (Iain counted them!!!!????) Cathy was pressed ham against the glass on
the other side and Iain, Alex and I lost sight of the cleaners and their gear
on the other side as they were swamped by hairspray, wind breakers, big
designer sunglasses and stoic faces. Not
a word was spoken by the group during the short ride to the top, I can only
imagine no one could actually take a deep enough breath in the crush to waste
air on words! When we arrived, the
little Asian ladies poured out to reveal the cleaners and we all watched them
swarm on with rather stunned faces. The
cleaners looked at us, laughed and said something in Austrian, that we didn’t
understand, but we clearly got the gist of it!
“Mien Gott verderglistheermanstatt, SERIOUSLY?????”
Quote of the Day
"Good thinking, Brussel Sprout..." What the....?????? So from now on Alex will be known as Brussel Sprout.... and Cathy is known as Tom Tom because of her patchy skill with directions (think Outlet Store from previous post).
