South Auckland to Reggio Emilia

We have arrived in Reggio after a long, long trip.  We landed in Milan and collected a hire van to take us up to Reggio.  Driving on the right hand side of the road was a bit of an adventure, especially the roundabouts.  The Van is quite new but dented to hell and it looks like at some stage the back doors were broken into with a crowbar (and never fixed) perhaps in Italy dents and scratches are status symbols!

We are staying in the older part of town and it is beautiful and what I would imagine typical Italy looks like.  Photos to be added because, you can guarantee I have been clickity Suz, the Japanese tourist!

Last night we went to a Pizza/Pasta place and the grumpy woman spoke zero English and we spoke zero Italian (which only enraged her more!!!) but eventually we all got something to eat and drink and the only time she smiled was when we paid the bill!

Alex has been brilliant because she didn't really sleep on the plane and was falling asleep at dinner and I can only imagine she perhaps was not stimulated by the oldies conversation enough to spark up!

Anyway..... funny stories to come, guaranteed.  I just have to get back to the conference now......
